Finishing Strong

How will you finish this last week of 2009? Are you distracted by the holiday cheer? Or will you use these last few days to start of 2010 before everyone else?

My last post talked about New Year’s Resolutions for social media. That was forward looking but we can still accomplish much in just the few days remaining in 2009.

Too often we put off success out of fear of failure. This time of the year, the excuses become easier to use and digest because of the preoccupation with the holidays. It’s a great time of the year where we enjoy family and friends and when business takes a back seat.

Use that to your advantage. Get a few days jump on the competition. When they’re busy sipping champagne, plan your course and see your success.

Start 2010 in 2009 and win like you know you can.

2009 was a good year for me after a devastating 2008. I have always focused on “deadlines” and it has paid off for 2009. We easily could have delayed three loan closings to early 2010 but wanted to stick to “the plan”. Jamming those three deals in made for a strong finish and a much less stressful start to 2010
