This week I am on the chilly East Coast for both a series of media appointments and to speak at the Business Development Institute’s Social Integration workshop. The event will be held at The event will be held at The Graduate Center of The City University of NY, 365 5th Avenue starting at 8am.
The event is a stellar one complete with an amazing line up of speakers set to share case studies so anyone – big or small business – can see how social media is changing the way we do advertising, promotions, public relations, and marketing in general. These brands and pros will share what they’ve learned – not just theory or opinion.
This is very important. Even though, as I wrote on the Shamable.com blog this week, the media and industry analysts continue to cover the “smoke and mirrors†of some while missing the opportunity to cover real companies producing real results, the BDI event is all about showing real success and experience to help pros get better.
Most of us using it every day in our businesses know social media is here to stay. It’s not our choice, it’s the customer’s choice. Boards of Directors and corporate executives are quickly recognizing this and are quickly jumping on the social media bandwagon. That means serious dollars will be invested and serious dollars will be wasted. Which one will you and your business do?
If you can make it out to the BDI’s Social Integration event Wednesday in New York City, please stop by and say hello. You’ll learn much and be able to mingle with some of the brightest folks in the industry today.
