Stick to Your Guns

Sometimes the hardest thing to do in life is the right thing.

We get comfortable and constantly find reasons why we shouldn’t do the right things. We get complacent and it’s much easier to just do what you’re used to doing. We get caught up in group-think and many times just want to “go with the flow” rather than stick to our guns. That leads us astray from our core beliefs and values and soon we’ve sold out to the will of the masses.

We stay in jobs long after we know we should have left. We say nothing when ethical wrongs are committed with our being full aware of them. We fail to take action because action sometimes comes with a cost. We say we’re “staying the course” because things will get better.

But do they?

Life is too short for regrets and too long to stay where you don’t feel comfortable. That job won’t get better if you compromise who you are and what you believe. The relationship won’t improve if your mate is selfish and doesn’t love you for you.

How many parents leave their kids in schools and institutions that don’t align with their values due to convenience? How many people accept mediocrity and the advice of fools?

The answer is too many.

Challenge yourself to do what’s right for you and your family. Don’t compromise.
