Is it worth it?
If I died today, would I have regrets about my career or my life? I would I die a happy man or woman? Or would I die a slave to a career or life choices that don’t make me happy and fulfilled?
These are the questions you must ask yourself every day. Without fail, wake up each morning and ask yourself these vital questions. Your answers may lead you to a different place.
A good friend’s recent health scare has me thinking more and more about these questions. Too often we get caught up in the day-to-day and the task at hand. But do we really find what makes us happy? Or are we on that treadmill that can lead us to a big fall?
Call it a mid-life crisis, or whatever. I am asking myself these questions more and more each day and being surprised by my internal answer. As a cancer survivor and a father of (soon to be) five kids, it’s creating a lot more questions than answers at this point.
What are your answers? Are you where you want to be? Or are you addicted to the high pay and the material trappings that accompany it?
You must ask yourself this question every day of your life.
